    Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be rising undergraduate freshmen, sophomores or juniors who have a high school diploma or a GED. They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. They must plan to enroll or be enrolled at an 1890 Land Grant institution and have plans to major in agriculture; agriculture business/management; agriculture economics; agricultural engineering/mechanics; agricultural productions and technology; agronomy or crop science; animal science; botany; farm and range management; fish, game or wildlife management; food services/technology; forestry and related services; home economics/nutrition/human development; horticulture; natural resources management; soil conservation/soil science or other related disciplines (e.g., biological sciences, pre-veterinary medicine or computer science). They must also have proven leadership skills and must have experience with community service. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

    How to apply: Applications are available by request from the Civil Rights Enforcement and Compliance section of the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service branch of the USDA. An application form and supporting materials are required.
